I bought the Valor primarily for weekend exploration in the high desert foothills, where steep, sandy inclines usually force me to push my old bike. Last weekend, I put the 140Nm torque to the test on a notorious 20-degree loose gravel ridge. The bike didn't hesitate—the power delivery felt incredibly linear, and the fat tires clawed through the silt without washing out. It turned what used to be a punishing, sweaty chore into an exhilarating backcountry run.
As a landscape photographer, I needed a rugged platform to haul myself and 35 lbs of camera gear into remote locations before sunrise. The Valor handles the heavy load beautifully. Even with a loaded rear rack and a heavy backpack, the frame feels rock-solid with zero chassis flex when cornering fast on dirt. The hydraulic brakes give absolute confidence on steep, loaded descents. It’s given me access to locations that used to require a 2-hour hike in the dark.
I was skeptical about the frame rigidity given the high torque output, but the structural integrity of the Valor is outstanding. The 4-link rear suspension handles rough terrain with zero noticeable flex. The power delivery from the dual-motor system is incredibly smooth—no sudden jerks, just linear, predictable acceleration. It’s heavy, as expected for a high-performance fat-tire bike, but the geometry makes it feel remarkably nimble once you’re moving.
We get a lot of sudden mud and slick mud-rock conditions on our local coastal trails. I took the Valor out right after a heavy rain storm, and the traction from these wide fat tires was incredible. I had to make an emergency stop on a slippery, wet downhill grade when a deer jumped out—the hydraulic brakes bit cleanly without locking up or sliding. The bike stays planted and track straight, giving you a massive sense of security when nature throws a curveball.
I join a local weekly trail ride with a mix of high-end e-bikes. The Valor always draws a crowd during breaks. But it’s not just for show, when we hit the technical, rutted-out downhill sections, the bike tracks beautifully. It eats up deep ruts and potholes that make other riders slow down.
I use this bike to clear my head after long office hours. My route starts on smooth city pavement, crosses a local state park, and ends on rough riverbed gravel. The transition is effortless.
I’m a bigger guy and I tend to ride hard, so I usually worry about component fatigue on e-bikes. After a month of slamming the Valor through rocky creek beds and small drops, it still feels as tight as day one. No rattling, no creaking from the battery compartment or motor mounts. You can feel the structural testing that went into this frame. Just make sure you invest in a heavy-duty hitch rack, because this machine has some serious heft to it.
